The Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) in collaboration with the Harris School of Public Policy, University of Chicago is organizing a webinar with Arpit Chaturvedi, Academic Coordinator at the Indian School of Public Policy, Cornell University and Madhavika Bajoria, Nutrition Integration Manager at Sight and Life,Columbia University, Class of 2016

Speaker Bio:

Arpit Chaturvedi: Arpit Chaturvedi is the Co-founder and CEO of Global Policy Insights and is currently the Academic Coordinator at the Indian School of Public Policy. He was also a lecturer at the San Francisco State University where he taught Comparative Perspectives in Public Service to graduate students.

A graduate of the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs, Arpit holds an MPA degree (phi alpha alpha) with a focus on Governance, Politics, and Policy Studies. He was also the first non-US citizen to hold the position of the Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell Policy Review. He is the author of the book “Our Egalitarian Universe?” and has been the editor of “Not Without her: Communal Harmony” – a monograph printed by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony, Government of India, with essays from the top civil servants of the country. He has published articles in various prestigious journals on the themes of democracy, governance, systems thinking, game theory, history and politics.

Madhavika Bajoria: Madhavika (Maddy) Bajoria is the Nutrition Integration Manager at Sight and Life, bringing significant experience in multi-sectoral partnerships, program management and advocacy to advance knowledge and implementation in nutrition. She has been driving the organization’s market-shaping work for prenatal multiple micronutrient supplements in South Africa, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Tanzania and Madagascar and has also supported the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to gain multi-stakeholder buy-in for the implementation of large-scale staple food fortification across the country. In her current role, she has led the creation of India’s first ever platform to engage private sector, IMPAct4Nutrition, in the government’s National Nutrition Mission, along with UNICEF, Tata Trusts and other key partners.

Driven by Sight and Life’s commitment to science-based innovation in product development and delivery, she has documented the organization’s work in family food models for Sizanani Mzanzi, a social business in South Africa and the cost-effective continuous blending model for large-scale rice fortification in India. She holds a Master in Public Administration from Columbia University and has previously worked with J-PAL, CARE and the ILO on policy and programmatic assessments in a variety of sectors.
