This course is designed to provide understanding of basic statistical concepts and their application in different areas of social sciences and public policy. The emphasis is on developing the ability to understand and interpret raw and processed numerical information, data presentation, estimation techniques and analyze results based on statistical concepts. To provide exposure in public policy related questions, examples, datasets and applications would be drawn from socio-economic, demographic surveys, industrial statistics and other related areas.
