Professor Krishna K Ladha joined Indian School of Public Policy as Professor in December 2022. He has been teaching ISPP scholars Game Theory, and Business & Government since the inception of the school. He has a PhD in Economics from Carnegie-Mellon University (1986), PGDM from IIM Calcutta, and MSc in Pure Mathematics from the University of Calcutta. His research and teaching interests include economics, political science, public policy, information aggregation, Indian judiciary, and democratic constitutions.
He has published in the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Social Choice and Welfare, and Public Choice, and is the recipient of the 1991 Duncan Black Prize for the best paper in Public Choice. After over 25 years in the USA with Washington University in St. Louis, University of Chicago, and New York University, among others, he returned to India in 2009.
He has taught at IIM Calcutta, IIM Kozhikode, Goa Institute of Management, and MDI Delhi. He worked for the Department of Atomic Energy and its Public Sector undertakings between his PGDM and PhD.
