“ISPP aspires to create a cadre of policy leaders who undergo a comprehensive academic programme in public policy, along with rigorous training in management, communication and leadership skills. Our support system for career growth covers a comprehensive set of resume building and interview training sessions, with the aim of preparing the scholars to go from being ‘interview-ready’ to ‘industry-ready.’
ISPP has a dedicated careers team working with each scholar to explore prospective career pathways and towards enabling career opportunities of the scholar’s areas of interest. "
The spirited diversity of ISPP’s cohort is also reflected in their varied career aspirations.
At ISPP, we have designed our own career support process – the ‘Three Es towards Employment’ to competently leverage on the varied skill sets and domain expertise that our scholars offer and enable each scholar to pursue varied career opportunities .
Immersive Learning Projects (ILPs) are designed to provide our scholars with real-time experience working on policy projects, ILP is a remotely monitored engagement with a partner organisation undertaken by the ISPP scholars as a part of their curriculum. During the course of this programme, we expect scholars to successfully work with firms on live projects, and apply their public policy training to solve complex policy challenges that the partner organisation is facing. The following organisations have participated in the Immersive Learning Programme – BCG, EY, Niti Aayog, NSDC, Safewater Network, Chase India, Sehgal Foundation, GRAAM, and APCO Worldwide.
The ‘Tea and Policy’ session is a unique initiative where we invite public policy professionals from a diverse range of industry backgrounds to engage with our scholars. These events are structured to be free flowing discussions which not only provide the scholars with an avenue to network with industry leaders but also gives them an insight into the day-to-day workings of a policy professional.
A few policy professionals who have engaged with our scholars include Aman Jain (Google), Priti Srivastava (Reliance Industries), Rajesh Chadha (Brookings), Anu Madgavkar (McKinsey), Nirat Bhatnagar (Dalberg), Ranen Banerjee (PwC), etc.
Our academic curriculum and career support system for professional and personal growth gave ISPP scholars an opportunity to work in reputed organisations.
SECTOR-WISE BREAK-UP OF PLACED SCHOLARS FROM CLASS OF 2020
The placement training was a very holistic one that prepared me for all stages of my selection process. Right from behavior interviews, technical rounds to salary negotiations all came in handy during my selection stage at Innovation mission Punjab.

I am very happy with my placement, and I am glad to say that it's in line with my future aspirations. As for the process itself, I liked that we started early in the year so that we could have things in place before graduation.

I have always been passionate about working in the education sector. Although there was a lack of job opportunities in the middle of the covid crises, I had the constant support of not only the placements team but also the entire ISPP team who helped me land the perfect role. The numerous late-night zoom calls, interview preparations, CV revisions and motivational conversations helped me stand my ground during the tough time.

ISPP’s ILP was my first space to research live projects. As team coordinator, I ensured our consistent mentorship and encouraged interdisciplinary strategies for deliverables. The team’s time with the Boston Consulting Group awarded us gainful and necessary experiences.

The ILP programme was a rich learning experience. It was an opportunity to not only connect theory with practice but also to work with a team of industry professionals who helped refine every step during the project. I am indeed grateful to ISPP for giving me this opportunity.
