Price of Survival

Stuck between a rock and a hard place. A public sector company on the brink. Its capital nearly wiped out, no new contracts in sight, and a chairman who has just been told, in no uncertain terms, that no one is coming to save them.

“Sink or swim,” says the ministry. No funds, no favours, no safety net.

Desperate for a foothold in an unfamiliar state, two officers are sent to a region where their company has never operated, carrying nothing but a simple mandate: find work, or watch the company disappear.

They find an opening. And with it, a proposition that comes wrapped in a friendly smile and an uncomfortably specific price tag.

The head office offers no guidance. No rulebook covers this. Just two men, a company running out of time, and a choice that will follow them long after the ink dries on any contract they manage to win.

Then comes a single line in an audit report and a question nobody in the room wants to answer.
