As an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS, 1983 batch), Rajeev Kapoor has served in the Uttar Pradesh cadre and held senior positions in both the Central and State Governments. At Central Government, Rajeev worked as Secretaries in different ministries, as Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), and as Joint secretary in the Department of Personnel. He also worked as a Governance Adviser with Department for International Development (DFID), UK for three years. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur (batch of 1979) and has a Post Graduate Degree in Management from IIM (Ahmedabad). Rajeev also has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Princeton University, US.
