Badapbiang Tariang Dkhar

Research Fellow At NLU Meghalaya

Badapbiang Tariang Dkhar is research Fellow at National Law University, Meghalaya. She previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Legal Practice at O.P. Jindal University, Sonipat. She is a Chevening alumna and holds an LL.M from SOAS, University of London and a B.A., LL.B (IPR Honours) from National Law University, Jodhpur. Her areas of focus are gender, tribal governance of natural resources, cultural heritage and intellectual property rights. Prior to joining academics, she practiced before the High Court of Meghalaya, Autonomous District Council and various courts across India pertaining to issues on indigenous rights, gender, health, discrimination and IPR. She also worked as a Consultant under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and the Tata Trust in Anjaw District, Arunachal Pradesh. She is the Founder of the Owl Library Initiative under the aegis of the Kyrshan Foundation, Shillong centred towards education, menstrual health advocacy and development of the grassroots community in Meghalaya.
