A key initiative by the network, the Applied Econometrics with Socioeconomic Data workshop was designed to build hands-on capacity in working with large Indian survey datasets. Led by Kavya Vohra, with a guest lecture by Dr. Shubhashis Gangopadhyay, the workshop introduced participants to data architecture, dataset integration, and applied econometric modelling using R, while encouraging critical engagement with real research problems. Through guided exercises and collaborative learning, participants developed practical skills in data cleaning, model interpretation, and research design, alongside a deeper understanding of how quantitative evidence informs public policy. The workshop reflected the network’s ongoing commitment to strengthening rigorous, practice-oriented economic research.
